RACE REPORT | MotoGP Czech Republic 2025

Marc Márquez capped off the first half of the season with victory at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno. Starting from second, the Ducati rider took the lead on lap 8 and managed the race from there to secure another win. Marco Bezzecchi finished second, with Pedro Acosta completing the podium in third.

The race began with an intense battle for the lead between Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez, but while Bagnaia managed to hold his ground at first, Márquez soon came under pressure from Marco Bezzecchi and lost position.

Lap 1 ended with Bagnaia leading ahead of Bezzecchi, Márquez, Quartararo, Acosta, and Mir. On lap 2, Bezzecchi took over the lead into Turn 1, while Acosta passed Quartararo shortly after. By Turn 3, Márquez moved past Bagnaia into second place.

Further drama followed as Álex Márquez crashed and took down Joan Mir in the process. Acosta continued his charge by overtaking Bagnaia on lap 3, as the top four shuffled to Bezzecchi, Márquez, Acosta and Bagnaia.

On lap 6, Enea Bastianini overtook Bagnaia but crashed just a lap later. At the front, Bezzecchi remained narrowly ahead of Márquez, but the gap was shrinking.

On lap 8, Márquez executed a decisive move into Turn 3 to snatch the lead from Bezzecchi. From there, the Ducati rider gradually built up a gap of around 1.5 seconds, controlling the pace and setting fastest laps that even broke track race record (with the help of new surface).

Although Bezzecchi found a slightly better rhythm in the final laps, he couldn't close the gap enough to challenge for the win.

Marc Márquez (Ducati) celebrated his eighth win of the season and extended his lead in the championship to a commanding 120 points. Bezzecchi (Aprilia) came home second, with Pedro Acosta (KTM) securing his first podium of the season in third.

Bagnaia (Ducati) finished fourth, ahead of a surprise performance by Raúl Fernández (Aprilia) in fifth. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) crossed the line in sixth, narrowly ahead of returning Jorge Martin (Aprilia), who finished seventh.
